Job Summary
This role is focused on supporting the delivery of infrastructure and facilities projects in a large, complex operating setting. The position involves coordinating work on site, overseeing contractors, and helping execute projects so they stay aligned with approved timelines, budgets, quality expectations, and safety standards.
The Site Engineer works alongside the Project Manager, contractors, and operational teams to keep site activities well coordinated and to ensure all work follows operational and regulatory requirements in a 24/7 environment.
Key Responsibilities
Site Coordination and Project Delivery
- Assist the Project Manager in the execution of facilities and infrastructure projects.
- Organize on-site activities among contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Track contractor output to confirm alignment with project scope, specifications, and timelines.
- Help prepare and roll out project execution plans and supporting documentation.
Progress Tracking and Reporting
- Keep a close watch on project progress against schedule, cost, and quality targets.
- Contribute to daily site reports and project status updates.
- Flag risks, delays, or other issues to the project management team promptly.
- Support project completion tasks such as inspections, testing, and handover.
Contractor Control and Compliance
- Make sure contractors follow health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Coordinate permits to work, site access needs, and operational approvals for project tasks.
- Carry out site inspections to confirm workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Maintain strong coordination between contractors, consultants, and operations teams.
- Support communication across project stakeholders to keep execution running smoothly.
- Contribute to improvement initiatives and capture lessons learned for future projects.
Qualifications
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or Project Management is required.
Experience
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience delivering construction or infrastructure projects.
- Background in facilities, infrastructure, or engineering projects within large and complex operational environments.
- Experience in infrastructure, mixed-use developments, or other operationally sensitive settings is preferred.
