Role overview
The Security Systems Technician will be responsible for installing, supporting, and servicing advanced electronic security and access control solutions in enterprise settings. The role calls for practical, hands-on exposure to systems such as Lenel, Honeywell, CCURE, and Vanderbilt, along with a strong grasp of integrated security environments.
This position combines fieldwork with technical support, with the goal of keeping systems reliable, secure, and aligned with client expectations.
Key responsibilities
- Set up, configure, and bring enterprise access control systems into operation.
- Carry out regular servicing, fault-finding, and corrective maintenance on security equipment and software.
- Work across platforms such as Lenel, Honeywell, CCURE, and Vanderbilt.
- Apply software patches, system upgrades, and firmware changes as needed.
- Investigate and resolve issues involving hardware, software, and network connectivity within security solutions.
- Support connected systems such as CCTV, intrusion detection, and alarm setups.
- Deliver technical assistance to customers both at client sites and remotely.
- Follow company procedures and applicable industry standards in all work performed.
- Keep clear records of installations, service activity, and system settings.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fellow technicians during deployments.
- Contribute feedback during system design discussions and ongoing improvement efforts.
- Provide user training on system operation when required.
- Attend service requests and join on-call coverage when needed.
- Maintain a strong customer experience through professional and dependable service.
Required qualifications
- Solid knowledge of enterprise access control systems and their architecture.
- Practical experience with Lenel, Honeywell, CCURE, Vanderbilt, or comparable platforms.
- Basic networking knowledge, including IP addressing, VLANs, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with integrated security technologies such as CCTV, intercoms, alarms, Genetec, or AMAG.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and system schematics.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability.
- Effective verbal communication and client-facing skills.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Industry certifications in Lenel, Honeywell, CCURE, Vanderbilt, or similar are an advantage, though not mandatory.
- At least 3 years of experience in enterprise security systems.
- Demonstrated experience installing and supporting access control solutions in commercial or enterprise environments.
- Background in field service or project-based work is preferred.
