Role Overview
Zaxbys is looking for a Restaurant General Manager in Greenville, SC to lead restaurant operations, support a strong team culture, and help deliver excellent guest experiences. The role centers on day-to-day management of staffing, training, sales performance, cost control, compliance, and brand standards.
The restaurant describes itself as a fun place for guests and a rewarding place to work for team members. The General Manager is expected to guide the team, set the tone for morale, and turn company goals into practical action plans.
Compensation and Bonus
The pay range for this position is $70,000 to $75,000 per year. A training completion bonus of $3,000 is offered. Quarterly bonus potential may reach up to 24% of annual salary. The bonus is paid in two equal installments: the first at training completion and the second 30 days later. The employee must still be employed at each payout date to receive the payments.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete required training programs, including the General Manager Development Plan, Operations Excellence Capstone Class, food safety certification, manager certification, and any other training assigned by the company.
- Lead the restaurant team so guests consistently receive a positive experience.
- Maintain proper staffing by recruiting, interviewing, hiring, retaining, and recognizing strong performers.
- Train, coach, mentor, and develop team members while holding them accountable for results.
- Create work schedules on time and in a way that supports sales and labor control.
- Assign shift duties, communicate expectations clearly, and adjust plans when needed.
- Protect service quality, food quality, and cleanliness standards at all times.
- Build a healthy work environment with strong morale by serving as a dependable leader and role model.
- Improve profitability through sales growth, cost management, staff development, and operational discipline.
- Strengthen sales by developing community relationships and delivering strong product and service value.
- Reduce losses and control expenses while following all company guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Complete performance reviews for crew members and support manager reviews as needed.
- Follow applicable company, local, state, and federal laws, rules, and policies.
- Use management tools effectively and keep records accurate, organized, and up to date.
- Review performance data daily and create action plans to improve systems, profitability, sales, and guest satisfaction.
- Respond promptly and respectfully to guest and team member concerns, complaints, or injuries.
- Remain flexible and ready to take on duties beyond the normal scope of the role when needed.
- Ensure the team works safely and follows all safety procedures.
- Escalate issues to a supervisor when appropriate.
- Perform any other tasks required for smooth restaurant operations.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- A valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and dependable transportation are required.
- Open availability is needed, with the ability to work at least 5 days and 48 hours each week.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must successfully pass a background check and motor vehicle report.
- Should demonstrate leadership, organization, and the ability to work well with others.
- Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent; some college is preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of management experience is required.
- Restaurant management experience is preferred.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk continuously.
- Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, crouch, and climb, including ladder use.
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
- Frequent use of hands and wrists for gripping and precise hand movements.
- Ability to communicate clearly through speaking, reading, and writing.
- Ability to maintain strong visual and audio awareness of the surroundings.
- Comfort working in environments with hot and cold temperature changes and food allergens.
- Ability to operate restaurant equipment safely, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous tools.
Additional Information
Training completion bonuses are split into two equal payments. The first payment is made when training is completed, and the second is made 30 days later. The new hire must still be employed at the time each payment is issued.
