Red Team Engineer - AI Trainer

Role overview

This position supports the improvement of advanced AI systems by applying practical cybersecurity expertise in a remote, self-managed environment. The work is designed for seasoned security professionals who can judge whether AI outputs are technically sound and usable in real-world defensive and offensive scenarios.

As part of the team, you will interact with modern AI models by reviewing security-related AI responses, working through technical challenges, and sharing feedback that helps refine how the models reason about threats, vulnerabilities, and countermeasures. Some contributors use this as supplementary work alongside another job, while others make it their main focus.

How the process works

After creating an account, you will complete a short assessment that acts as the screening step. If successful, you will receive confirmation by email and paid tasks will be made available through the platform.

Responsibilities

• Assess AI-produced cybersecurity material, such as threat analysis, vulnerability reviews, and offensive-security content, to verify that it is accurate and practical.
• Create and solve security-oriented technical tasks used to train AI models.
• Produce clear explanations and write code where needed for security-related work.
• Share feedback that helps improve the next generation of AI security systems.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of practical experience in cybersecurity, including areas such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or similar work; experience in government or military cyber operations is also relevant.
• Ability to code, with comfort reviewing, navigating, and patching a codebase.
• Strong English fluency at native or bilingual level, along with solid writing skills.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Relevant certifications are considered an advantage, such as OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, or similar credentials.

Compensation and engagement terms

This is an independent contractor role. Work is paid through PayPal, and candidates will never be asked to send any money. Pay starts at $50–$100+ per hour, with bonus pay available on some projects. You can choose the projects you take on and decide when to work.

Location and availability

This opportunity is available only in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. The role is remote, and you can work from your own computer on your own schedule.
