Overview
Mark J Woodcock Consulting Ltd is hiring a Recruitment Coordinator for its JML Jobmatcha business in Ashford, Kent. This is a full-time position offering a salary of £26,000 to £28,000 depending on experience, with hybrid working available. The company is a compact, fast-moving SME that supplies construction labour for major infrastructure and construction projects across the UK.
The role is designed for someone who wants a varied and hands-on position rather than a routine admin job. You will be involved in candidate sourcing, compliance, onboarding, and making sure workers are fully prepared and placed into live assignments at the right time.
What the role involves
Day to day, the position combines recruitment administration, candidate management, and coordination with operations. Each day may involve speaking with candidates, checking documents, managing urgent starts, or supporting the team to fill active requirements quickly and accurately.
- Advertise vacancies and manage job posts across multiple channels
- Find suitable candidates through job boards, databases, and referrals
- Review applications and make initial contact with applicants
- Carry out screening calls to judge suitability for the role
- Complete right-to-work verification and document checks
- Confirm CSCS cards, site tickets, and other required qualifications
- Maintain accurate candidate records and update internal systems
- Arrange interviews, registrations, and onboarding steps
- Work with the operations team to meet live staffing needs
- Support candidates through to successful first-day attendance
What the company is looking for
Previous recruitment experience is not essential. The ideal person is organised, proactive, comfortable speaking on the phone, and able to manage multiple tasks at once without losing attention to detail. A strong interest in learning the construction recruitment sector and a desire to build a long-term career are important.
Experience in administration, customer service, logistics, or coordination would be relevant, especially for someone looking for a faster-paced role with clearer progression opportunities. The company promotes from within and will provide training to help the right person move toward a Recruitment Consultant position over time.
Working style and culture
This is a role where compliance is taken seriously, because accurate checks and proper documentation are essential for worker safety and client confidence. The team is described as small, direct, and supportive, with a strong focus on practical results.
Compensation and benefits
- Annual salary of £26,000 to £28,000, based on experience
- Hybrid working arrangement, with a base in the Ashford office and some flexibility
- Monday to Friday working pattern
- Structured training in construction recruitment and compliance processes
- Opportunity to work in a close-knit team where your contribution is visible
- Exposure to one of the UK's busiest infrastructure recruitment markets
- Clear development path into a Recruitment Consultant role
How to apply
Applicants should be organised, ambitious, and ready to take on a role with real responsibility. Interested candidates are asked to send a CV along with a short note explaining why this opportunity is the right next step for them.
