Role Summary
Syngenta’s Product Biology team is hiring an R&D Specialist for its Vero Beach, Florida research center. In this position, you will help plan, run, and manage laboratory, greenhouse, and field studies focused on soil and plant health solutions. You will collaborate closely with agricultural scientists to produce dependable, high-quality research results.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize, support, and help execute field, greenhouse, and lab trials that move biological and plant health products forward.
- Assist with technical trial setup, including improvements to application equipment when needed.
- Monitor greenhouse systems such as watering, heating, and cooling so trials remain consistent and reliable.
- Support project planning and delivery through trial preparation, data gathering, and result reporting.
- Create demonstration trials that clearly show product value to stakeholders and site visitors.
- Suggest and implement suitable crop care practices that contribute to trial performance.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in an agricultural science discipline such as agronomy, plant pathology, or soil science is preferred; familiarity with biostimulants or plant health products is an advantage.
- Ability to work on your own while applying strong analytical thinking and practical problem-solving.
- Hands-on experience with field research or laboratory equipment.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities, with the capacity to balance several priorities at once.
- Comfort using digital tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, SmartSheet, and ARM, along with solid communication skills.
- Willingness to work in field and greenhouse environments and travel up to 10%.
- Preferred profile: an M.S. degree, or a B.S. with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Compensation
The annual salary range for this role is $64,000 to $96,000.
