Role overview
Metric DCX is looking for an experienced QA/QC Manager to oversee quality assurance and quality control on major construction projects, with particular focus on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in critical environments such as data centers. This position suits a highly organized leader who can maintain quality standards in fast-moving, high-stakes project settings.
What the role involves
The selected professional will guide all site-level quality activities from project launch through final handover. The job requires ensuring that contractors and subcontractors follow engineering requirements, project specifications, and applicable regulations while promoting a strong culture of safety and accountability.
Key responsibilities
- Create and roll out project-specific QA/QC procedures and site quality plans.
- Direct quality control operations from the beginning of the project through closeout.
- Arrange inspections with subcontractors, vendors, and client-side representatives.
- Manage incoming material inspections and the distribution of quality records.
- Verify compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Track non-conformance issues and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Run weekly QA/QC meetings with subcontractor quality teams.
- Lead both internal and external quality audits.
- Administer inspection and test plans (ITPs).
- Evaluate technical submittals and coordinate approval workflows with clients.
- Maintain complete QC records for as-built handover documentation.
- Monitor execution of the approved site QC plan.
- Work closely with Construction Managers on all quality-related matters.
Qualifications and technical requirements
The role calls for 7 to 10+ years of construction QA/QC experience, ideally including large-scale projects in data centers or other mission-critical facilities. A strong background in MEP systems is required. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or bring equivalent professional experience. CQM certification is preferred. A solid understanding of construction methods, codes, and standards is necessary.
Tools and technical capabilities
Applicants should be comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel and have experience with Deltek or a similar project management platform. The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and safety procedures is important.
Work style and environment
This position requires strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple stakeholders. The ideal candidate is detail-focused, confident in problem-solving, and comfortable working in an active construction site environment. A strong commitment to safety and operational excellence is essential.
Site conditions and working hours
Work will take place on an active construction site with exposure to loud noise, moving mechanical equipment, heights, and electrical systems. Depending on project needs, extended hours and weekend work may be required.
Application note
If you are ready for your next career move in QA/QC leadership, this opportunity may be a strong fit.
