Role overview
Wood is looking for a Proposals Manager based in Perth to lead the preparation and delivery of proposals, expressions of interest, pre-qualification documents, and related customer submissions for assigned opportunities. The work must follow approved win strategies and governance requirements. The position may also be located in Melbourne or Brisbane.
Reporting to the Proposals Team Lead, this role owns the full proposal lifecycle for assigned pursuits. It involves coordinating all contributors, making sure customer requirements are met, and delivering polished submissions within deadline.
Business and project context
The company operates across energy and resources, with capabilities spanning decarbonisation, hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, renewables advisory, asset optimisation, digital solutions, operations, maintenance, and project delivery.
The business supports technical consulting across planning, design, construction, operations, and optimisation of assets, facilities, and infrastructure in sectors such as energy, industrial, power, mining, and life sciences. It also delivers operations and maintenance services, brownfield modifications, and greenfield project delivery.
Key responsibilities
You will manage proposal activity end to end, from planning through submission and post-tender review. The role requires close coordination with subject matter experts, commercial, estimating, legal, and functional teams, along with careful review of requirements, content quality, and compliance.
What the employer offers
The role comes with involvement in meaningful projects across renewables and emerging energy sectors, flexible working options including hybrid and remote arrangements where suitable, a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, competitive pay with regular market-aligned salary reviews, and a flexible benefits package. Benefits mentioned include Family Leave, Cultural Leave, Purchased Leave, Salary Continuance, Salary Packaging, and Novated Leases. There is also a focus on ongoing professional development and the chance to work with global experts.
In Perth’s CBD, the workplace includes access to a free 24/7 on-site gym and end-of-trip facilities, plus remote work options, purchased annual leave, and employee discount programs.
Qualifications and requirements
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required, preferably in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Technical or engineering exposure is preferred but not essential, and prior experience in oil and gas or mining and metals is also preferred rather than mandatory.
The ideal candidate should be able to manage projects, work with customer representatives, understand and interpret stakeholder requirements, and balance workload and bid team resources to meet deadlines. Strong proofreading, editing, and critical thinking skills are needed, along with the ability to translate technical material into clear, strategic messaging. Solid Microsoft Office skills are also required.
Eligibility
Applicants must have the right to work in Australia without restrictions. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are encouraged to apply.
