Production Engineer

Role overview

As a Production Engineer, you will support the end-to-end manufacturing flow for high-voltage switchgear and connected components. The role covers work from the earliest production stages through packing and dispatch, with a strong focus on output, quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the production line aligned with HSE expectations and quality standards.
• Act in line with the company’s values of safety and integrity by taking responsibility for your actions and supporting your colleagues and the business.
• Carry out in-process quality checks and ensure blue-collar employees complete required skill certification.
• Set and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly targets to blue-collar, white-collar, and contract employees.
• Manage blue-collar teams to achieve the best possible quality output.
• Improve productivity and operational efficiency across manufacturing activities.
• Handle ISO audits and internal audits, and take ownership of equipment and facilities within the line.
• Recommend technical improvements for facilities where needed and ensure volume, quality, and delivery goals are met on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Spot production-line gaps and lead improvement actions such as JDI, Kaizen, A3, and Six Sigma initiatives.
• Support the planning, execution, and deployment of actions that strengthen production performance.
• Coach, guide, motivate, and develop direct and indirect team members on QC, HR policies, product knowledge, and continuous improvement tools.
• Support technology transfer for new products and take part in greenfield and brownfield projects for new facility development, expansion, or line integration.
• Help lead Lean Lighthouse deployment with the factory operations team.
• Work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues quickly and adopt best practices.
• Oversee the production journey from manufacturing through final packing and dispatch to support customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
• Continue to uphold safety and integrity in daily work and interactions.

Candidate background

The role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably mechanical or electrical, with 5 to 6 years of experience in a manufacturing setting. Candidates with a diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering and 8 to 10 years of manufacturing experience may also be considered.

Production supervision experience is required, and switchgear experience is preferred. Working knowledge of SAP, especially PP and MM, is needed. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing subordinates with care, maintain a strong focus on quality, and bring hands-on experience in continuous improvement. A Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma will be an added advantage.

Strong spoken and written English communication skills are required.
