Company Overview
The Monarch Group is a North American plastics blow molding manufacturer with operations in Canada and the United States. It produces high-quality plastic containers for food, beverage, industrial, and consumer packaged goods markets, supported by advanced manufacturing capabilities and a strong focus on operational performance.
Role Overview
The Monarch Group is looking for a commercially driven Procurement Manager to own procurement and strategic sourcing activities. In this role, you will help strengthen supplier partnerships, improve purchasing performance, and support broader operational goals across a growing manufacturing business.
You will work closely with Operations, Finance, Sales, Production Planning, and senior leadership to shape sourcing strategies, negotiate supplier contracts, manage resin and commodity purchasing, and lead initiatives that enhance cost control, supply reliability, and overall business results.
Why This Role Stands Out
- Lead procurement and strategic sourcing for a growing North American manufacturer.
- Work directly with executive leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Take ownership of resin and commodity purchasing in a fast-moving manufacturing setting.
- Develop long-term supplier relationships that support quality, service, innovation, and operational effectiveness.
- Contribute to procurement improvement and continuous enhancement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct procurement and sourcing initiatives across the organization.
- Create sourcing plans and negotiate long-term supplier contracts.
- Manage important supplier relationships and evaluate supplier performance.
- Track resin and commodity markets and respond to price fluctuations with effective strategies.
- Support production planning and inventory optimization efforts.
- Identify procurement savings opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with Operations, Sales, Finance, Production Planning, and Quality teams.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or purchasing within a manufacturing environment. They should have a solid track record of negotiating supplier agreements and managing strategic vendor relationships.
Experience in plastics, plastic packaging, blow molding, injection molding, thermoforming, or similar manufacturing sectors is strongly preferred. Familiarity with purchasing plastic resins such as HDPE, PET, PP, and LDPE, along with commodity-based or index-linked purchasing agreements, is a strong advantage.
We are seeking a commercially minded professional with strong analytical ability, negotiation skills, and relationship management capabilities who can thrive in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
Location
