AutoCanada/ACX is seeking a Payroll Clerk to support its payroll operations from the Edmonton home office, with remote work available anywhere in Canada. This is a full-time opportunity for an immediate hire.

Role summary

Reporting to the ACX Payroll Team Lead, this position owns the end-to-end payroll function for the division. The role centers on accurate and timely payroll execution, monthly/quarterly/annual remittances, employee data maintenance, and compliance with payroll legislation and procedures across Canada.

Key duties

  • Run full-cycle payroll on a bi-weekly, weekly, and semi-monthly basis for multiple locations across Canada.
  • Enter and update payroll records for new hires, employee changes, and departures.
  • Partner with the Human Resources Manager on onboarding, exits, and employee status changes.
  • Serve as the main contact for payroll- and benefits-related questions.
  • Keep employee records organized in an electronic filing system.
  • Handle questions and requests from staff, managers, and government bodies.

Required profile

The ideal candidate will have solid payroll experience, a strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation, and the discipline to maintain accuracy and compliance in a confidential environment.

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is an advantage.
