Role Overview
SO/ Hotels & Resorts is looking for a meticulous Painter to support the maintenance function at its All Inclusive Collection property in Ras al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. The position focuses on applying paints, varnishes, stains, and related finishes to a variety of surfaces so the property remains visually appealing and well maintained. The right candidate should bring hands-on painting experience, a strong sense of quality, and a commitment to working safely and neatly.
Key Responsibilities
- Get surfaces ready for coating by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks or holes, and applying primer where needed.
- Carry out painting and finishing work on interior and exterior areas such as walls, ceilings, doors, windows, and other structures, with smooth and even coverage.
- Blend paints and stains to match the required shade and consistency, and use proper application methods for durable results.
- Support minor maintenance tasks before painting, including drywall touch-ups, wood sanding, and similar surface repairs.
- Follow safety procedures at all times and keep the work area tidy and well organized, using protective equipment such as gloves, masks, and goggles when required.
- Look after painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, sprayers, and other related supplies, to keep them in usable condition.
- Coordinate with other team members to complete painting assignments efficiently and to the expected quality level.
- Organize work effectively so multiple tasks are completed within schedule.
- Check completed work carefully to make sure the finish meets standards and any flaws are corrected.
- Use environmentally responsible methods by limiting waste, choosing eco-conscious products where possible, and disposing of paint containers and materials correctly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required; painting-related certification or training would be an added advantage.
- Prior experience in painting, especially in a hotel, commercial, or hospitality environment, is preferred.
- Knowledge of painting methods and the ability to use brushes, rollers, and sprayers effectively.
- Familiarity with different types of paints, varnishes, stains, and finishes.
- A sharp eye for detail and the ability to deliver neat, high-quality work.
- Physical fitness to handle manual work, including standing for long periods and lifting when needed.
- Awareness of safety practices when working with paints, solvents, and chemicals.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Good communication skills for working with supervisors and colleagues.
- Willingness to follow sustainability guidelines, local legal requirements, health and safety rules, company policies, and industry standards.
