About the Role
Miral Experiences operates a portfolio of renowned, award-winning attractions and cultural destinations across Abu Dhabi, including major theme parks, waterparks, immersive entertainment venues, and landmark cultural experiences. The organization focuses on creating memorable guest experiences that combine excitement, enjoyment, and discovery for visitors of all ages.
This position is a guest-facing leadership role at Yas Waterworld. It is responsible for supporting smooth daily operations, protecting guest safety, and leading front-line teams. The role requires active supervision, clear communication, emergency response readiness, and the continued upkeep of lifeguarding, swimming, and basic life support capabilities.
Team Leadership and People Management
- Lead front-line colleagues and oversee their on-the-job training, daily attendance, grooming standards, coaching, appraisals, and individual development plans.
- Prepare schedules, manage breaks, and rotate team members when needed so that all positions remain covered, productivity stays high, and colleague well-being is protected.
- Provide task training to ensure colleagues can operate equipment safely and follow all departmental procedures.
- Address performance issues through fair and consistent coaching and disciplinary action to support motivation and improvement.
- Complete performance reviews in a timely, balanced, and constructive way to encourage both personal and career development.
- Allocate work, delegate tasks, and follow up on completion.
- Conduct communication briefings when needed to keep the team aligned.
Operational and Safety Responsibilities
- Make sure safety rules, operating procedures, and departmental standards are followed at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment and report defects or hazards to management promptly.
- Confirm that opening and closing checklists and other required records are completed accurately and filed correctly.
- Handle guest and internal issues that front-line colleagues are not able to resolve.
- Carry out pre-operational inspections of rides, slides, and attractions and report any observations or concerns.
- Oversee the daily operation of assigned park sections, including supervision of Lifeguards and Guest Relations Officers.
- Work in water, at heights, outdoors, and in extreme temperatures throughout the year.
- Follow manufacturer instructions and SOPs related to ride dispatch and guest safety.
- Serve as a first responder under the emergency action plan.
- Perform daily safety audits and document the findings as instructed.
- Operate rides, slides, and attractions as required for operational purposes.
- Protect the safety of guests, colleagues, and contractors at all times.
- Work nights, evenings, and holidays when required.
- Take on any other job-related duties assigned by the department.
Guest Service Expectations
- Provide clear direction and assistance to guests to ensure their visit runs smoothly and safely.
- Remain approachable, friendly, and professional while interacting with guests.
- Handle large crowds and speak to groups when necessary.
Job Essentials
- Corrected or uncorrected vision of 20/25.
- Ability to supervise shallow-water attractions and maintain constant vigilance while assisting guests safely.
- Prior experience in guest service.
- Ability to swim 200 meters continuously using front crawl or breaststroke.
- Ability to tread water for 2 minutes without using the arms.
- Ability to maintain lifeguard readiness in line with the International Lifeguard Training Program.
- Basic spoken English skills.
Job Desirables
- Previous experience as a lifeguard.
- Background in a waterpark or theme park environment.
- Basic or advanced spoken Arabic.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
