Role overview
Riverside Nursery Schools is looking for a Nursery Apprentice to join its team in Twickenham. This full-time, on-site opportunity is designed for someone who wants to build a career in early years education while working across the nursery with children of different ages.
Working pattern
The role is based on 40 hours per week, with hours that may change depending on the shift rota. Working time is scheduled between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. As part of the apprenticeship, some off-the-job learning is required and must take place in the nursery’s dedicated training suite. Apprentices may also be asked to complete up to 8 hours of paid overtime each week when needed.
Training and qualification
The nursery partners with Best Practice Network to support Trainee Educators working toward a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification. You will receive structured guidance throughout the programme, including support from an on-site tutor and assessor.
What the package includes
- Full training and practical support from an on-site tutor and assessor
- Employee assistance support for health, mental health and emotional wellbeing
- Employer pension contribution scheme
- Access to ongoing learning and professional development
- Guidance and mentoring from experienced educators
- Social and team-building activities
- Use of staff relaxation areas with unlimited complimentary hot and cold drinks, plus snacks
- Free hot lunch
- Opportunities to progress professionally for those who want to develop further
Entry requirements
Candidates are ideally expected to have GCSE grades A-C or 4-9 in English and Maths, or an equivalent Functional Skills qualification. If these qualifications have not already been achieved, the successful applicant will need to complete Functional Skills exams.
