About the role
The Markets team is looking for a Pursuits and Proposals Manager to help win and expand important client relationships. In this role, you will work closely with partners, directors, and pursuit teams across the business to manage complex proposal and bid activity from initial qualification through submission and debrief.
You will bring together strategic thinking, strong project coordination, and persuasive storytelling to help teams present strong ideas, create differentiated responses, and deliver client solutions that stand out.
This is a full-time, fixed-term role based in Auckland, covering parental leave for a period of 6 months.
Key responsibilities
- Own the full proposal and pursuit process, including go/no-go decisions, strategy sessions, bid planning, content creation, submission coordination, and post-bid review.
- Run workshops with pursuit teams to shape winning strategies, value propositions, and clear win themes tailored to client priorities.
- Coach senior stakeholders and pursuit teams on developing persuasive proposals, presentations, and pitch documents that keep the client central.
- Provide bid management support through drafting, editing, reviewing, and polishing content to raise overall response quality and differentiation.
- Oversee bid governance, timelines, and cross-functional coordination across several complex opportunities at the same time.
- Protect and apply PwC’s brand standards, visual style, and tone of voice across all proposal and presentation assets.
- Track tender opportunities and help route them to the right subject matter experts and business development teams.
- Maintain and improve bid tools, knowledge libraries, and proposal best practices used across the firm.
- Support improvements to bid processes and tools, including Salesforce integration and the use of emerging AI-enabled capabilities to improve pursuit outcomes.
- Work with global PwC bid management teams to share insights, innovations, and proven practices.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience leading complex bids, proposals, and pursuit processes in a professional services or B2B setting.
- Strong project management capability, including the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, workstreams, and deadlines.
- Demonstrated skill in developing strong client-focused value propositions, proposal content, and presentation materials.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities, including experience influencing and coaching senior leaders.
- A collaborative, practical, and solutions-oriented mindset, with confidence to challenge constructively and deliver results in a high-paced environment.
Benefits and highlights
- Discretionary bonus opportunities, referral bonuses, and access to retail discounts and deals.
- Global network access, leadership development, AI tools and training, and formal learning pathways.
- Annual wellbeing allowance of $250, life and income protection, support through Sonder/EAP/Headspace, 15 days of paid sick leave, and group-rate health insurance where eligibility applies.
- Flexible working arrangements and a supportive coaching culture.
- Two paid recognition days during the annual summer shutdown, plus the option to buy up to two additional weeks of annual leave.
- Paid parental leave for all parents, flexible options, financial planning support, inclusive networks, and paid volunteering leave.
