Role Overview
This position is responsible for leading mechanical maintenance activities for a chemicals manufacturing environment in Valia, Gujarat. The role focuses on reliable operation of critical plant equipment, statutory compliance, maintenance planning, vendor coordination, and effective cross-functional support to production and purchase teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct upkeep of high-pressure compressors, blowers, pumps, heat exchangers, reformers, hot oil systems, and other essential utility equipment.
- Oversee maintenance of high- and medium-pressure boilers while ensuring all statutory requirements are met.
- Monitor and improve the performance of HVAC systems, including cooling towers and chilling plants, with attention to efficiency and energy use.
- Handle thermic fluid systems, ETP equipment, and material handling system maintenance.
- Identify and resolve mechanical problems across equipment and support shutdown planning for machines and manpower in coordination with production and other teams.
- Work with the purchase team to arrange spares, chemicals, and consumables, while maintaining inventory readiness and controlling costs.
- Coordinate with vendors for breakdown maintenance, preventive maintenance, AMC work, and improvement of vendor capability.
- Carry out maintenance-related transactions in SAP MM and PM modules accurately and on time.
- Maintain ISO-related documents and ensure compliance within the mechanical maintenance function.
- Plan daily maintenance work, allocate manpower efficiently, and coordinate smoothly across departments.
Education
The expected qualification is B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
Applicants should have 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience.
