Laboratory Assistant - Health Sciences

Position Summary

The Health Sciences Laboratory Assistant supports teaching and learning across one or more health sciences programmes, including Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technician, and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician. This role is responsible for helping faculty and students by keeping laboratories and workshops ready for use, installing and demonstrating equipment, and resolving equipment or facility issues when they arise.

Position Objective

The purpose of this role is to prepare laboratory spaces for practical sessions, ensure materials and supplies are available, and maintain the related records and documentation needed for smooth day-to-day operations.

Core Duties

• Assist faculty and students in health sciences lab and workshop settings.
• Maintain laboratory and workshop facilities so they remain ready for instructional use.
• Install, demonstrate, and troubleshoot equipment used in practical sessions.
• Prepare laboratory setups before experiments and training activities.
• Monitor and replenish supplies required for lab operations.
• Keep documentation and records organized and up to date.
