Junior Developer, Footwear

Role overview

This position sits within the footwear development space at PUMA, where the focus is on turning design ideas into products that can be built efficiently and perform well. The role is part of a collaborative environment that values drive, team spirit, individuality, and a strong sporting mindset.

What you will do

• Help convert design ideas into practical, manufacturable footwear prototypes.
• Work closely with designers and product lifecycle managers during the product creation journey.
• Create, update, and keep accurate technical documentation and package details.
• Manage sample requests, monitor deadlines, and support prototype evaluation.
• Liaise with sourcing teams and suppliers to move development work forward.
• Take part in domestic and international travel, which is expected to be about 20%.

What you bring

• A degree in Footwear, Sports Technology, Engineering, Product Development, or a closely related subject.
• Some hands-on exposure to footwear development work.
• Working knowledge of footwear materials, construction methods, and how products are manufactured.
• A well-organized, self-starting approach and the ability to learn quickly in a busy team setting.
• Interest in innovation, sustainability, and performance-led product design.
• Strong English communication skills; German and/or Mandarin would be an advantage.
• Willingness to travel from time to time.
