Role Overview
This is a part-time, remote entry-level opportunity for an IT Support Analyst supporting students, faculty, and staff at a university. The position is centered on providing day-to-day technical help, resolving common user issues, and keeping support operations organized and well documented.
Key Duties
- Handle help desk requests and provide timely technical assistance to users.
- Identify and resolve basic problems related to hardware, software, and desktop setups.
- Assist with configuring and preparing desktop computers for use.
- Support users with connection and network-related issues.
- Walk users through routine IT processes and usage steps in a clear, simple manner.
- Escalate more complex incidents to senior IT staff when required.
- Record support actions, incident details, and resolutions accurately.
- Work in line with university IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
- Collaborate remotely with the wider IT team to ensure consistent support delivery.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should bring experience or capability in technical support and help desk operations, along with the ability to troubleshoot common desktop and software issues. A solid grasp of basic IT concepts, good communication skills, and a customer-focused approach are important for this role.
