We are looking for an Investment Analyst to assist with strategic expansion, investment evaluation, and capital allocation decisions for the Group. In this position, you will work alongside senior leaders to assess mining projects, acquisitions, and other investment opportunities, using financial analysis to guide important business choices.
The role blends financial modelling, commercial assessment, and market research, and offers exposure to both established operations and future growth initiatives.
This is a strong opportunity for someone with an analytical mindset and a commercial outlook who wants to build a career in an international mining and natural resources company.
Key Responsibilities
- Review investment opportunities, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships within the mining and natural resources industry.
- Create and update detailed financial models to evaluate project economics, business valuations, and expected investment returns.
- Carry out commercial, operational, and financial due diligence for potential acquisitions and business prospects.
- Assist in assessing mining assets, exploration work, development projects, and capital expenditure requests.
- Track the financial results of current operations and produce analysis and reporting for senior management.
- Research commodity markets, industry movements, competitors, and wider economic conditions to spot risks and growth opportunities.
- Prepare financial analyses, investment cases, and presentation materials to support executive decision-making.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning across the Group.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and technical teams to review project performance and identify improvements.
- Support corporate development work, including acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and post-acquisition integration when needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a similar field.
- Background in investment analysis, corporate finance, private equity, investment banking, or FP&A.
- Strong capability in financial modelling, valuation, and commercial analysis.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience in commercial and financial due diligence.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Clear written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial topics effectively.
- Ability to juggle several priorities in a fast-moving international setting.
- Exposure to mining, metals, natural resources, energy, or infrastructure is helpful, though not mandatory.
Who Should Apply
Professionals with relevant experience in investment analysis or corporate finance who are comfortable working in a dynamic, international environment and are interested in the mining and natural resources sector.
