Role overview
This permanent full-time position is based at the Leeds service and follows a Monday to Friday schedule of 37.5 hours per week. The pay rate is £13.45 per hour, which works out at £26,300 a year, and the package includes benefits such as a Health Cash Plan.
Please note that sponsorship cannot be provided for this role.
As a Housing Management Worker, you will help residents keep their homes safe, compliant and in good condition. The role focuses on supporting customers with tenancy management, rent accounts and practical housing support so they can progress toward secure long-term accommodation.
Customer group
The service supports customers aged over 55.
What you'll be doing
- Work closely with customers so they are actively involved in managing their tenancies.
- Assist residents with housing benefit applications and ensure payments are credited to the correct rent accounts.
- Bring empty rooms, bedsits or properties back into use within agreed timescales to maintain occupancy levels; this may include light practical tasks such as sweeping or painting.
- Complete and log routine safety and compliance inspections across buildings and shared community areas to help maintain standards and meet legal requirements.
What we're looking for
We are ideally looking for someone with experience in property management, although this is not essential. Experience in settings involving compliance checks or health and safety monitoring would also be relevant. You should care deeply about customer service, be comfortable working independently, and be able to influence people positively across different backgrounds. Strong teamwork skills are important too, especially when working with colleagues across the business and with outside partners. A real interest in property and pride in maintaining high standards will help you succeed in the role.
Working arrangements and practical requirements
The role includes flexible working hours, and alternative working patterns may be discussed. You must be able to use technology to create and update support plans, submit benefit claims and complete tenancy sign-ups. An enhanced DBS check is required, and the cost will be covered by the employer.
Why this role could suit you
You will receive training and development, and your suggestions will be welcomed as part of a culture that values employee input. The job offers the chance to make a visible difference to customers every day and to be part of an organisation recognised as one of the UK’s Great Places to Work.
Benefits
- 34 days of leave each year, increasing to 39 days, including bank holidays and a personal “me day”.
- Health cash plan that can save you and your children more than £1,140 annually on dental care, eye tests, prescriptions and more.
- Pension contributions matched up to 7%, plus life insurance worth 3 times basic salary.
- Instant pay access through Stream.
- Access to more than 800 discounts covering shops, holidays, days out, technology and more.
Location and application notes
The role is based in Leeds, at Greenmill Gardens. Applications may close early, so candidates are encouraged not to wait. Reasonable adjustments can be requested by emailing recruitment@homegroup.org.uk.
Closing information
The closing date is 26 July at 11:59 PM.
