Role Summary
This full-time, on-site position is based in Midland, Ontario. The General Laborer will support day-to-day shop and facility activities by helping keep the worksite clean, organized, and ready for production and maintenance tasks.
Key Duties
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas across the shop and facility.
- Sort, arrange, and manage tools, materials, and equipment.
- Assist with steel cutting, installation work, and maintenance-related tasks.
- Load and unload materials and help move or position parts and equipment safely.
- Use basic hand tools, power tools, and a band saw in a safe and controlled manner.
- Follow both written and spoken instructions carefully to complete assigned work.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and workplace procedures at all times.
- Identify and report hazards, equipment concerns, or unsafe conditions promptly.
- Support inventory checks, waste removal, and other general shop duties as needed.
- Help keep projects and daily workflows moving on schedule.
Requirements
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, standing, and moving materials during the day.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools, with a willingness to learn correct operation and upkeep.
- Strong focus on detail and consistent adherence to instructions, procedures, and safety rules.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to contribute effectively in a team-based, on-site setting.
- Basic English communication skills, both spoken and written, to understand directions and safety notices.
- Previous exposure to general labor, construction, manufacturing, or similar hands-on work is helpful but not mandatory.
- High school education or an equivalent level of schooling is preferred; technical or trades exposure is an added advantage.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada and able to commute to the Midland, Ontario worksite reliably.
