About the Role
Hilton Garden Inn in Morgantown, West Virginia is positioned in Suncrest Towne Centre, close to shopping and dining and only a short drive from Ruby Memorial Hospital, West Virginia University, Mountaineer Field, and the WVU Coliseum. The property is hiring a dependable full-time housekeeper to join a guest-focused hospitality team.
This role is centered on maintaining clean, well-stocked guest rooms and supporting a safe, polished environment for visitors. The housekeeper is also expected to notice and escalate room damage, equipment issues, suspicious behavior, or theft according to housekeeping and safety standards.
Compensation
Starting pay is $14.00 per hour.

Key Duties
- Clean assigned guest rooms and replenish them with the required supplies while following safety and security procedures.
- Complete room tasks such as removing trash, changing linens, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping, dusting, washing windows, maintaining hallways, and replacing room literature.
- Collect, organize, replenish, and store housekeeping cart supplies in line with established procedures.
- Re-stock the cart at the end of the shift.
- Receive assigned rooms, keys, supplies, and priority requests from the Senior Housekeeper, and return keys and unused supplies before leaving.
- Respond to guest requests courteously and communicate guest concerns or complaints in a helpful manner.
- Arrive on time and work the scheduled shift for its full duration.
- Report missing items, room damage, and mechanical problems to the Senior Housekeeper, and turn in any articles left behind by guests.
- Sweep hallways assigned to the area of responsibility.
- Escalate maintenance concerns to inspectors, the front desk, and maintenance staff.
- Wear the assigned uniform and name tag throughout the shift.
- Carry out daily projects assigned by the department.
- Work with the Housekeeping Supervisor to prioritize tasks and provide support when needed.
- Assist with weekly and monthly inventory checks.
- Maintain open communication to help uphold and improve hotel quality.
Requirements
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required; prior housekeeping experience is preferred.
- The ability to clean the assigned quota of rooms within an eight-hour workday is necessary.
- Applicants should be self-motivated, even-tempered, detail-oriented, and able to manage time effectively.
- Professional appearance standards must be met, and clear communication with guests is expected.
- Strong practical problem-solving skills are needed, along with the ability to follow written, verbal, diagram-based, or schedule-based instructions.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying are required, including moving a loaded supply cart, carrying amenity trays, handling dirty linen, and using a vacuum.
- Repeated bending and kneeling are needed for bathroom cleaning, bed-making, and dusting.
- Movement is needed to reach shelves, windows, ledges, pipes, under beds, and behind furniture.
- The position involves continuous standing and walking.
- Limited stair climbing may be required.
- Limited driving may be required.
- The work environment is entirely indoors.
- Minimal hearing ability is needed for guest interactions.
- Strong visual awareness is important for meeting cleaning standards.
- Minimal speech is needed for alternate communication.
- Reading ability is critical for understanding chemical use and daily assignment sheets.
- Exposure to standard Eco-Lab cleaning chemicals is required.
- Limited protective clothing may be required.
