About the Role
An analytical and commercially aware FP&A Analyst is needed to join the ANZ Finance team in Sydney. Reporting to the Head of FP&A & M&A – ANZ, this position supports financial planning, reporting, and commercial analysis across the business.
This role is well suited to someone early in their FP&A career who wants broader exposure, close interaction with senior stakeholders, and the chance to contribute to strategic decisions within a growing finance function.
What You Will Do
- Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning activities.
- Prepare monthly management reporting, financial analysis, and performance commentary.
- Build and update financial models, dashboards, and forecasting tools.
- Review revenue, expenses, margins, and core business drivers to inform commercial decisions.
- Support pricing, profitability, and cost improvement projects.
- Maintain data accuracy and help uphold reporting and governance standards.
- Work with stakeholders across the business to deliver clear and useful financial insights.
What We’re Looking For
You should be a motivated finance professional with strong analytical ability, a real interest in commercial finance, and a practical, can-do mindset. The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, takes ownership, and works well in a collaborative setting.
- A qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in FP&A, commercial finance, management accounting, or public practice.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
- A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to balance competing priorities.
Advantageous Experience
- CA or CPA qualification, or progress toward one.
- Experience in a multinational environment.
- Exposure to BI tools, reporting systems, or financial planning software.
- Background in manufacturing.
- Interest in using AI and technology to improve business processes.
