Role overview

Star Construction, LLC is hiring a Flagger I to support safe movement around active work zones. The role focuses on traffic control and flagging activities to help keep public areas secure while work is in progress.

Key duties

• Direct traffic around active construction zones using hand signals and paddles
• Set out flags, cones, signs, and other marking devices
• Assist with general construction tasks when directed by a foreman or supervisor
• Operate company vehicles responsibly and follow safe-driving rules
• Comply with local, state, and federal Department of Transportation requirements
• Keep company vehicles and equipment clean and in working order
• Work outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Take on additional tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for this employer
• High school diploma, GED, or comparable experience
• Valid state driver’s license that is not provisional, with an acceptable driving record
• Prior flagging experience is preferred

Physical demands

• Routine duties may include working alone in a remote area, driving, bending, stooping, squeezing, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting 10 to 25 pounds, performing fine hand movements, and using a keyboard and mouse
• Occasional duties may involve reaching above shoulder level, climbing stairs, and lifting 26 to 55 pounds
