Role overview

ICEC Group is seeking a Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function at its Dunleer, County Louth location. This position suits a commercially aware finance leader who can balance day-to-day financial control with long-term business support, while helping shape growth across a multi-entity environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct the full finance operation, covering budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and overall control.
  • Compile monthly management accounts, annual statutory accounts, and board-level reporting packs.
  • Oversee cash management, treasury, liquidity, and working capital, with a focus on improving net working capital performance.
  • Supervise the main finance processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, banking, and the general ledger.
  • Maintain compliance with tax, audit, statutory filing, governance, and regulatory obligations in Ireland, the UK, the US, and any other relevant jurisdictions.
  • Coach, guide, and develop the finance team while promoting a high-performance, improvement-oriented culture.
  • Contribute to strategic projects such as mergers and acquisitions, refinancing, capital investment decisions, investor communications, and wider growth planning.
  • Deliver commercial analysis through financial models, performance insights, pricing input, and investment evaluation.
  • Support finance change programmes, including ERP rollout, automation, process streamlining, and reporting enhancement.
  • Build effective working relationships with the Board, senior leadership, external auditors, banks, and regulators.

Candidate profile

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with substantial post-qualification experience and a strong track record in financial management, reporting, control, compliance, and governance within an industry setting. Experience in multi-entity and international businesses is important, along with solid knowledge of UK and Irish GAAP, IFRS, taxation, and regulatory requirements.

You should also bring practical experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning, plus familiarity with ERP platforms and finance systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics. Strong leadership, communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities are essential, together with the confidence to influence commercial decisions and support business strategy.

Ideal candidate

ICEC Group is looking for a hands-on finance leader who combines technical accounting strength with strategic thinking, operational improvement skills, and the ability to help drive performance in a growing, multi-entity organisation.
