Finance Manager - Arabic Speaking Required

Role Overview

Dr. Scent is hiring a Finance Manager for its Sharjah office in the UAE. This full-time position reports to the General Manager and focuses on overseeing the company’s finance function end to end. The role covers reporting, cash management, compliance, controls, and decision support for leadership.

Financial Reporting

• Handle monthly and yearly closing activities for the accounts.
• Compile financial statements and management-level reports.
• Examine journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and provisions.
• Maintain accounting records in line with IFRS requirements.

Budgeting and Planning

• Build the annual budget and prepare financial forecasts.
• Track actual performance against the approved budget.
• Study variances and summarize the findings for management.
• Contribute to feasibility assessments and business planning work.

Cash Flow and Treasury

• Create weekly and monthly cash-flow projections.
• Track bank positions, collections, outgoing payments, and funding needs.
• Oversee banking activities and supplier payment timing.
• Manage petty cash, employee advances, and general company spending.

Receivables and Payables

• Monitor customer balances, credit exposure, and overdue accounts.
• Work closely with the sales and collections teams.
• Check supplier invoices and supporting payment paperwork.
• Make sure payments are processed through the approved authorization flow.

Inventory and Cost Control

• Assess inventory valuation, landed cost, and product costing.
• Keep an eye on raw materials, finished goods, and stock movements.
• Take part in stock counts and look into stock variances.
• Review damaged, expired, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory.

Tax and Compliance

• Ensure adherence to UAE VAT and Corporate Tax rules.
• Prepare and file tax returns within required deadlines.
• Coordinate external audits and regulatory reviews.
• Keep financial records complete and audit-ready.

Internal Controls and ERP

• Create and update finance policies and internal control procedures.
• Maintain proper segregation of duties and approval hierarchies.
• Review user access permissions within the ERP environment.
• Enhance reporting, workflows, approvals, and automation in finance processes.

Management Support

• Deliver analysis on profitability, pricing, costs, and margins.
• Equip management with accurate financial data for decision-making.
• Spot ways to reduce expenses and strengthen cash flow.
• Evaluate financial risks connected to contracts and business operations.

Team Leadership

• Guide and oversee the finance team.
• Allocate tasks and track individual performance.
• Train team members on finance procedures, ERP usage, and compliance matters.
• Ensure reporting and payment timelines are consistently met.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional certifications such as CMA, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent qualification are preferred. A minimum of 7 years of finance experience, including managerial exposure, is required. Strong working knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, budgeting, and reporting is essential. Experience with ERP systems, inventory costing, and manufacturing or trading operations will be highly valuable. Advanced Excel ability, along with strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills, is expected.
