CDI Experts also provides seconded project leaders and technical specialists to strengthen client teams on large government and private sector programs. The firm is focused on practical, commercially sound solutions that lower risk, resolve disputes, and bring structure and clarity to projects.

  • Support project cost management through forecasting, reporting, and ongoing commercial tracking.
  • Assist with valuations, variations, claims preparation, and related commercial tasks.
  • Work with project managers, planners, and commercial stakeholders to support project delivery and decision-making.
  • Contribute to risk and opportunity reviews and help identify commercial exposures.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based commercial insights to support client outcomes.

Candidate Profile

  • You should bring strong estimating and quantity surveying capability, including quantity take-offs, cost planning, and bill-of-quantities preparation.
  • Experience with tendering and procurement is important, along with the ability to review subcontractor and supplier pricing and prepare competitive submissions.
  • Hands-on knowledge of cost control, forecasting, and commercial reporting in construction or infrastructure settings is expected.
  • Understanding of construction contracts, variations, claims, and dispute support will be valuable.
  • You must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical paperwork with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent numerical ability, analytical thinking, problem-solving, accuracy, and risk awareness are essential.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are needed to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience using estimating and project software such as CostX, Expert Estimation, or comparable tools, along with advanced MS Excel skills, is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is needed.
  • Prior experience in the construction, infrastructure, or energy sectors in Australia, ideally on major projects, is preferred.
  • Membership of, or progress toward membership with, a relevant professional body such as AIQS or RICS is an advantage.
