About the organisation

About the role
EDQ is seeking an Engagement Manager to provide leadership across stakeholder and community engagement for major projects in Queensland. This role is responsible for guiding best-practice engagement across significant development, housing, and infrastructure initiatives.
As the Engagement Manager, you will lead a capable team, shape strategic engagement advice, strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, and help ensure engagement activity supports sound decisions and positive outcomes for communities.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement engagement strategies for stakeholder and community engagement across a varied project portfolio.
- Lead, coach, and support a high-performing engagement team while encouraging accountability, teamwork, and ongoing improvement.
- Offer strategic guidance to senior leaders, project teams, and partners on engagement opportunities, risks, and approaches.
- Develop and maintain consistent engagement structures, governance, systems, and frameworks across EDQ.
- Maintain effective working relationships with government bodies, industry partners, local councils, and community stakeholders.
- Manage consultation activities so that community feedback is reflected in project outcomes and organisational decisions.
- Act as an EDQ representative in forums, working groups, and public engagement settings.
About you
You are a strategic engagement leader who can work confidently in complex, fast-moving environments and deliver high-quality outcomes. You bring strong people leadership capability and the ability to influence across multiple stakeholders.
- Experience creating and delivering stakeholder and community engagement strategies for complex projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and build capability to achieve strong results.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to turn strategic priorities into practical engagement plans.
- Experience managing multiple projects while balancing competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive briefings, reports, and strategic advice.
- Experience putting engagement frameworks, systems, and processes into practice to ensure consistency and best practice.
