This position is for experienced Project & Programme Managers and Assistant Project Managers with backgrounds in engineering or construction capital projects. The work sits within a Transformation Delivery team focused on major capital programmes across sectors such as energy, utilities, transport, gas, telecoms, housing, healthcare, water, and wider infrastructure. The role is based in Dublin or Cork and follows a hybrid model with mostly remote working and occasional visits to client offices or sites when needed.

The team supports clients through the construction and operational stages of major capital programmes, combining industry knowledge, established processes, and global delivery experience to provide trusted advisory support.

Core responsibilities

The role involves close collaboration with infrastructure clients to develop practical solutions and guidance for the delivery of capital projects and programmes.

  • Work directly with clients in sectors including energy, utilities, water, gas, telecoms, and infrastructure.
  • Provide advice on the challenges associated with delivering capital projects and programmes.
  • Support project setup and mobilisation, including defining delivery strategy and operating model.
  • Help keep project deliverables on track for time, cost, and quality.
  • Maintain project plans, issue logs, risk logs, assumption logs, dependency logs, and budgets effectively.
  • Contribute to major project and programme delivery from initiation through closure.
  • Use technical, sector, and market knowledge to turn data into useful insight.
  • Develop high-quality work products and presentations with limited supervision.
  • Lead or contribute to small engagements or workstreams where needed.
  • Assess programme management or operational maturity and implement improvement recommendations.

Requirements

  • A third-level qualification in engineering, construction, or a related discipline.
  • For Assistant Project Manager roles, around 3 to 6 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Project Coordinator delivering engineering capital projects.
  • For Project / Programme Manager roles, around 6 to 20 years of experience delivering large-scale engineering capital projects.
  • Experience in consulting or another client-facing environment is preferred.
  • Practical experience across project management, engineering design, contract management, and procurement is desirable.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with proven ability to manage complex programmes.
  • Good understanding of project governance and change management principles.
  • Additional qualifications such as PRINCE2® or PMP are an advantage.
