Day Porter

About the role

GDI Integrated Facility Services is hiring a Day Porter in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The role is focused on keeping the property tidy, safe, and presentable for the public while handling routine upkeep and assisting with day-to-day facility needs.

This is a full-time onsite position.

What you will do

• Help maintain a clean and orderly appearance throughout the facility by carrying out basic maintenance and housekeeping duties.
• Carry out light floor care work.
• Check public spaces regularly during the day and remove litter or deal with wet spills as needed.
• Collect and dispose of trash when required.
• Complete other cleaning duties assigned to you.
• Support the customer’s facility with routine daily tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Prior experience in sanitation or housekeeping is preferred.
• Background in cleaning work is an advantage.
• You should be able to collaborate effectively with other team members.
• Ability to understand customer instructions and follow directions from supervisors.
• Strong attention to detail is important.
• Ability to use good judgment and work on your own when needed.
• High integrity is required.
• You must be able to pass a criminal background check.
