Role summary

As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for keeping the gym’s facilities clean, hygienic, and welcoming at all times. Your work will support member comfort and safety across workout zones, changing areas, and shared spaces. This is a 20-hour per week position suited to someone who is dependable, detail-focused, and committed to improving the member experience.

Key duties

• Perform detailed cleaning across all gym areas, including floors, equipment, studios, changing rooms, showers, and other shared spaces.
• Disinfect and sanitise surfaces to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
• Clear waste bins, fit new liners, and carry out waste disposal in line with procedures.
• Track cleaning stock levels and inform management when supplies need replenishing.
• Work cooperatively with the wider gym team to help deliver a smooth customer experience.
• Raise maintenance or repair issues without delay when identified.
• Consistently follow the gym’s cleanliness and safety expectations.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will have good attention to detail, work well on their own, and manage time effectively. Prior experience in cleaning or janitorial work is helpful but not required, as full training will be provided. You should also be comfortable with cleaning methods, sanitation standards, and safe handling of chemicals, with training available where needed. Good communication skills, a team-oriented attitude, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends are also important.
