Role overview

Agri West Africa is seeking a full-time, remote Chief Operating Officer to lead core operations and strengthen overall organizational execution. This senior role is responsible for shaping operational direction, ensuring smooth day-to-day performance, and helping the company deliver on its business objectives across functions.

What you will do

The COO will set and roll out operational plans, connect work across teams, and make sure business initiatives are carried out effectively. The position involves improving workflows, refining processes, tracking performance metrics, and keeping operations aligned with company policies and outside regulatory requirements. The role also requires working closely with the executive leadership team on long-range planning, budgeting, and resource decisions, while using data to guide strategy and execution.

Qualifications

• Strong background in business planning and strategic leadership, with the ability to build, launch, and track growth and operating plans.
• Hands-on experience in operations management, including workflow improvement, performance monitoring, and coordination across departments.
• Advanced analytical ability to review data, spot patterns, and turn findings into practical recommendations.
• Sound finance and budgeting experience, including profit and loss oversight, forecasting, and aligning spend with strategic goals.
• Experience in agriculture, agribusiness, or emerging markets would be a strong plus.
• Proven success leading remote teams and creating inclusive, cooperative team environments.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a closely related discipline; an MBA or other advanced degree is considered an advantage.
