Batch Plant QC Inspector

Role overview

Esnad Roads Contracting Company is hiring a Batch Plant QC Inspector for a project based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on quality control for concrete batching activities, material checks, testing, documentation, and compliance with project specifications and recognized standards.

Key responsibilities

• Check incoming raw materials such as cement, aggregates, water, admixtures, and supplementary cementitious materials to confirm they meet approved specifications.
• Oversee concrete batching work to ensure the approved mix design is followed, weighing is accurate, batching order is correct, and the water-cement ratio and admixture dosage are properly controlled.
• Conduct and observe fresh concrete testing, including slump, temperature, air content, unit weight, and sample collection in line with ASTM and ACI requirements.
• Prepare concrete cubes/cylinders, identify and cure them properly, and arrange compressive strength testing.
• Examine batch tickets before release to confirm mix design, concrete grade, quantity, batching time, truck information, and delivery needs.
• Confirm that batching plant equipment, testing instruments, and mixer trucks are calibrated and in suitable condition.
• Keep QC logs, inspection records, test results, and calibration files up to date, and raise any quality non-conformance concerns.

Requirements

• A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in concrete batch plant quality control.
• A valid ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I certification is required.
• Practical knowledge of ASTM, ACI, and concrete quality control practices is essential.
• Prior approval or experience with Saudi Aramco, NEOM, SABIC, or the Royal Commission is preferred.
• Good communication abilities, along with strong reporting and documentation skills.
