Role Overview
The Kingsley is seeking a Bar Supervisor to join its bar team in Cork. This is a hands-on hospitality position within an innovative food and beverage environment, with a strong emphasis on team growth, succession planning, and staff development.
Availability
The role requires flexibility to work different shifts across weekdays and/or weekends, based on operational requirements.
What You Will Do
- Deliver a polished, friendly, and consistent guest experience at all times.
- Keep food and beverage service running efficiently by taking and processing orders accurately.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation across the café, breakfast, dinner, and service areas.
- Handle payments and operate the till/POS system correctly.
- Assist the wider food and beverage team with day-to-day duties during peak periods.
- Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times.
- Support health and safety standards for both guests and team members, and escalate any concerns or breaches.
- Supervise service delivery on the floor.
- Ensure customer service remains at a very high standard.
- Coach and train team members through on-the-job support and buddy systems.
- Provide cocktail training and development to the team.
- Address guest complaints professionally and work to reduce repeat issues.
- Manage alcohol service responsibly and safely.
- Support the wellbeing and morale of the team.
- Use property management and operational systems such as Micros, Opera, and Alkimii.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a comparable hospitality or bar supervision role.
- Strong knowledge of food, beverages, wine, and liqueurs.
- Practical experience making cocktails.
- Excellent customer-facing and interpersonal abilities.
- Genuine enthusiasm for hospitality.
- A qualification in food and beverage or a related area is preferred.
- Intermediate computer and IT skills.
- Experience supervising people and leading a team.
- Ability to organise, plan, and run events.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland is essential.
- High standards of personal grooming and presentation.
- HACCP training is required.
- RSA training is required.
