About the Role
This position sits within a franchised or affiliate store operating under a major Canadian grocery banner. The business traces its roots back to a meat delivery operation in Stellarton, Nova Scotia and has expanded into a large network of corporate and independently operated stores across all 10 provinces.
This opportunity is for a Bakery Clerk role at an independently owned and operated franchise/affiliate location.
The Bakery Clerk is expected to handle the full scope of the role in a dependable, accurate, professional, and timely manner. The position focuses on strong customer service, helping build customer loyalty, meeting shopper needs, and contributing to a positive workplace and customer experience.
Key Duties
- Follow food safety rules, standard operating procedures, health and safety practices, corporate policies, and related company programs.
- Deliver helpful customer service and address customer needs in the bakery department.
- Keep the work area tidy, organized, and visually appealing.
- Prepare and process bakery orders from customers.
- Support product execution and merchandising in the department.
- Handle, prepare, and present bakery items.
- Help drive sales by promoting bakery products proactively.
- Assist in training junior team members.
- Order and receive inventory according to company stock-control procedures when needed.
- Manage department shrink and reduce losses.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in line with company expectations.
- Take on additional tasks as needed.
