EY is seeking an Audit Staff member to join its Audit Strategy & Delivery team in Kingston, Jamaica. This role supports clients by carrying out objective reviews of financial statements, discussing accounting and reporting matters with management, and helping provide audit committees with a clear, well-founded perspective. The position is suited to experienced professionals who want continued growth through varied assignments, guided coaching, and learning opportunities within a globally connected firm.

Key responsibilities

• Identify possible audit concerns or unusual patterns through basic financial statement analysis and raise them with the team.
• Record the execution of audit procedures accurately and clearly in line with engagement goals, client history, and the planned audit method.
• Review existing approaches critically and look for ways to improve audit practices and techniques.
• Work professionally within the client’s environment and demonstrate strong competence on assignments.
• Keep a client-first mindset, respond promptly to requests, and build effective working relationships with client teams.
• Stay current on business and economic developments that may affect the client’s operations.
• Share ideas and viewpoints within the audit team and remain open to the input of others.
• Use technology to keep learning, exchange knowledge with colleagues, and improve service delivery.
• Spot potential opportunities and raise them with the team.
• Develop and present ideas that help apply EY’s knowledge and services effectively.

Candidate profile

EY is looking for applicants with an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting or another business-related field, or candidates currently pursuing an accounting qualification such as ACCA, CA, or CPA. A minimum of 2 to 3 years of audit experience with a public accounting firm is preferred. Relevant business or industry experience may also be considered an advantage for special requirements.
