The position also includes using cost management tools to enter, monitor, and analyse project financial data, carrying out site visits to confirm quantities and measure progress against cost plans, and helping prepare cost reports and stakeholder presentations. You will also contribute to improving cost management systems and ensure work aligns with UAE building regulations and industry standards.
Required Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate should have 2 to 3 years of experience in quantity surveying, cost management, or a similar construction-related role. Strong understanding of quantity surveying methods, cost estimation, and cost planning is essential, along with the ability to use cost management software such as Elecosoft, Causeway, or comparable platforms.
You should also be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and have a solid grasp of construction contracts, procurement, and tendering procedures. The role calls for strong numerical accuracy, analytical thinking, excellent organisation, good time management, and effective communication skills. A collaborative approach and the ability to work well in a team are important.
Preferred experience includes work on construction projects in the Middle East or UAE, familiarity with UAE building codes and construction standards, exposure to BIM and cost modelling tools, knowledge of tender documentation and cost benchmarking, and a professional quantity surveying qualification or recognised membership.
