Role overview
Gloucestershire County Council is hiring an Area Highways Representative to support the Area Highway Team from the Cirencester Highways Depot. This permanent position focuses on helping maintain and oversee the highway network across Gloucestershire within assigned geographic areas.
What the role involves
You will act as the main contact for local residents and other stakeholders on highway-related issues in your designated area. The post supports day-to-day service delivery, contributes to statutory highway responsibilities, and helps keep highway maintenance and management running effectively.
What you need to bring
The council is looking for someone with practical experience in highways and emergency management, together with strong communication and customer service skills. You should be comfortable dealing with members of the public and external contacts in person, in writing, and over the phone.
