Arabic QA Lead

Role overview

This is a remote contractor position for an Arabic Quality Assurance Lead. The role focuses on maintaining quality, consistency, and reviewer/trainer performance across Arabic AI training initiatives. You will assess AI-produced Arabic content and the work of trainers and QA contributors, compare outputs against project instructions, and deliver clear written feedback that helps raise overall quality.

You will be responsible for checking accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural fit, meaning preservation, instruction compliance, formatting, and project rubric alignment. In addition, you will identify repeated quality problems, keep trainers and QAs informed about project updates, support onboarding, maintain supporting documentation, and help re-engage contributors who are inactive.

The organization is a fast-growing AI data services company that supplies training data to leading AI companies and foundation model teams. In this role, your work will directly contribute to better Arabic-language AI outputs by ensuring the data is natural, accurate, culturally suitable, well documented, and aligned with client expectations.

Selection process

Requirements

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Arabic, linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, English, education, quality assurance, or a related discipline.
• Native-level or near-native command of Arabic, with strong reading and writing ability.
• Solid English proficiency for interpreting guidelines, coordinating with teams, and giving feedback clearly in English.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Arabic writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or a similar language-review role.
• Strong knowledge of Arabic grammar, punctuation, spelling rules, diacritics, right-to-left formatting, tone, register, Modern Standard Arabic, and regional variation.
• Ability to evaluate Arabic text using detailed rubrics and identify issues such as mistranslation, overly literal phrasing, unnatural tone, wrong register, dialect mismatch, fabricated claims, ambiguity, or inconsistent terminology.
• Prior experience guiding or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is an advantage.
• Comfort working in fast-paced remote setups with tools such as Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management platforms.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding resources, honeypots, and related quality documentation.
• Exposure to AI training, data annotation, large language models, prompt or response evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Arabic work samples, flag quality problems, share ongoing feedback through direct messages, and escalate repeated or serious issues.
• Keep trainers and QAs updated in Discord on new guidelines, workflow changes, project updates, and expected quality levels.
• Answer trainer and QA questions quickly and clearly, especially on Arabic phrasing, grammar, register, dialect, RTL formatting, translation accuracy, terminology, and cultural context.
• Reach out to inactive contributors, encourage them to resume work, track follow-ups, and note availability concerns where necessary.
• Build and update Arabic project documentation, including style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
• Plan and lead onboarding or training sessions for trainers and QAs, covering project expectations, workflows, rubrics, quality standards, and Arabic-specific style requirements.
• Make sure trainers and QAs apply Arabic language rules consistently and stay aligned with changes as projects evolve.
• Spot recurring quality gaps, suggest workflow improvements, and support the creation of scalable QA processes for Arabic-language work.

Work arrangement

This is an hourly remote contractor role based in Saudi Arabia.
