Role Overview

Planet is seeking an energetic AppOps Engineer to support the health and reliability of its systems. The role focuses on real-time monitoring of application and infrastructure performance to help keep services running smoothly.

What You Will Do

• Keep a close watch on the stability, uptime, and dependability of Planet’s infrastructure and application services, especially across payment, hospitality, and retail environments.
• Help maintain production availability through ongoing, proactive monitoring.
• Spot service issues, escalate them appropriately, and assist with resolution alongside support teams to limit disruption for users and business operations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to introduce preventive actions that lower the chance of future outages.
• Record incidents, fixes, and temporary workarounds in the ticketing system and keep tracking them through closure.
• Recommend improvements that can raise the overall quality of production services.
• Take part in shift handovers and ensure clear, continuous communication between teams working different shifts.

Who You Are

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field.
• Experience in technical support, service delivery, or a comparable role is preferred.
• You are a strong problem-solver and can make sound decisions under pressure.
• You work well in a busy environment and can manage several priorities at once.
• You have supported applications on Windows or Linux and are familiar with technologies such as Tomcat, IIS, SFTP tools like Globalscape, and F5 load balancers.
• Exposure to monitoring platforms such as Coralogix, DataDog, Netreo, or SolarWinds would be an advantage.
• You are comfortable using Jira or similar issue-tracking tools.
• Experience administering Active Directory components such as DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy is a plus.
• Knowledge of payment platforms and financial applications is beneficial.
• You are willing to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• You communicate clearly and work well with others.
• You can prepare strong written updates and verbal reports.
