Company Overview
Power Resources International Ltd is a producer of critical metals focused on high-purity oxides and refined metals.
Role Summary
The company is hiring a practical, hands-on AI Automation Developer to create and improve digital workflows across mining, refining, trading, finance, procurement, HR, inventory, maintenance, laboratory, and compliance functions in Rwanda. This position is focused on building usable automation solutions rather than research-oriented AI work.
The role sits at the intersection of Odoo ERP, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate, Copilot and AI agents, operational data, and industrial processes. The selected professional will design, develop, test, and support automation tools that strengthen operational control, reporting accuracy, process discipline, data capture, and decision-making across an integrated critical minerals business.
This person will partner with teams in operations, engineering, finance, procurement, HR, compliance, and IT to identify where automation can reduce manual effort, improve data quality, and support dependable, scalable systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI-supported workflow automations across mining, refining, procurement, inventory, maintenance, HR, finance, laboratory, trading, and compliance activities.
- Develop and support integrations and automations within Odoo v18 Enterprise, covering areas such as Accounting, Inventory, Procurement, HR, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Projects, Documents, Approvals, Quality, and asset management.
- Create Microsoft 365 workflow solutions using tools such as SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, and Copilot Studio where suitable.
- Build AI assistants, workflow agents, and automation utilities that help employees search internal knowledge, generate structured reports, capture operational data, and follow approved procedures.
- Connect systems using APIs, scripts, scheduled tasks, database queries, connectors, and low-code/no-code automation tools.
- Support reporting and data capture for mine-to-plant-to-refinery operations, including production updates, maintenance logs, inventory transactions, chain-of-custody records, QA/QC documentation, and management dashboards.
- Work with business teams to document current processes, spot inefficiencies, and convert manual work into controlled digital workflows.
- Develop secure, dependable, and auditable automation frameworks that follow system-of-record rules, data governance requirements, user access controls, and document management standards.
- Create scripts, tools, and dashboards that improve management visibility into operations, compliance, procurement, maintenance, finance, and HR.
- Test, verify, document, and oversee automation solutions to ensure they remain accurate, secure, stable, and easy to use.
- Offer technical assistance and user training for teams adopting new workflows and AI tools.
- Maintain clear technical documentation, process maps, user instructions, and change-control records.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the organization’s digital systems and operational reporting setup.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Proven background in process automation, workflow design, system integration, or business process digitisation.
- Strong software development capability, with experience in Python, JavaScript, SQL, REST APIs, JSON, and scripting for automation preferred.
- Experience with ERP platforms, ideally Odoo, including modules, workflows, approvals, user permissions, reporting, and integrations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools, especially SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Excel, Power Automate, Power Apps, and related workflow solutions.
- Ability to build AI-enabled tools using large language models, AI agents, prompt engineering, retrieval-based knowledge systems, or workflow assistants.
- Solid understanding of databases, data structures, APIs, access controls, and data quality concepts.
- Capability to turn real operational challenges into practical technical solutions.
- Strong focus on quality assurance, including testing, validation, error handling, monitoring, and documentation.
- Comfort working with non-technical users to understand workflows and build solutions that are simple, reliable, and genuinely useful.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
