Position overview
North Carolina Central University (NCCU), a historically Black university in Durham, North Carolina, is seeking an adjunct instructor in English. The Department of Language and Literature supports learning in languages, cultures, literature, linguistics, and writing. Its goal is to strengthen students’ analytical thinking, creativity, problem-solving ability, and communication skills so they are prepared for civic and professional responsibilities. The department teaches general education courses in English, foreign languages, humanities, and philosophy, and it also includes degree programs in English, foreign languages, and interdisciplinary studies.
Role purpose
This position is focused on teaching first-year English composition and/or technical writing. The instructor will also maintain office hours for planning, grading, and student meetings.
